About Us

About the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication:

In 2000, the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication was born on the island of Lesvos, the product of a ground-breaking academic idea that focused on studies in culture and technology, promoting interdisciplinarity and following the tradition of the University of the Aegean for high-level studies in innovative interdisciplinary subjects.

In the intervening years until today, the Department continues to develop dynamically, following international academic developments and synthesizing, in the context of a creative dialogue, culture with technology, through a network of cognitive fields, such as those defined by Informatics, Communications, Cultural Studies, Museology, Audiovisual Media and Educational Technology.
