About the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication:
In 2000, the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication was born on the island of Lesvos, the product of a ground-breaking academic idea that focused on studies in culture and technology, promoting interdisciplinarity and following the tradition of the University of the Aegean for high-level studies in innovative interdisciplinary subjects.
In the intervening years until today, the Department continues to develop dynamically, following international academic developments and synthesizing, in the context of a creative dialogue, culture with technology, through a network of cognitive fields, such as those defined by Informatics, Communications, Cultural Studies, Museology, Audiovisual Media and Educational Technology.
About the Privacy Engineering & Social Informatics Laboratory (PrivaSI):
The PrivaSi Laboratory is a research unit of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication, which responds to educational needs and conducts interdisciplinary research activities in the fields of security, privacy, applied informatics, new technologies, and social informatics.
